Track and Field Claim Two Relay Champion Titles in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Blue Raider Track and Field team rounded off their final day of the Tennessee Relays, claiming two relay champion titles on Saturday. Meanwhile on the field, Jacob Patten secured a top-five finish in the men's high jump.
Blue Raider Relays Among the Top-Five
The women's distance medley team of Joice Jebor, Joycelyn Assafuah, Eulisa Chepkemei and Abike Egbeniyi clinched first-place to open up the Relays on Saturday. The team finished with a time of 11:23.01.
Likewise, the men's 1,600 sprint medley relay team (Lamarco Petty, Willington Wright, Jaquez Torian and Tre'Von Sanders) claimed the Tennessee Relays champion title, crossing the line with a time of 3:22.44.
The relay team of Ida Mensah, Mirlege Castor, Cecilia Francis and Edidiong Odiong placed fifth-place in the women's 400 relay (46.02).
MT Individual Finished Among the Top-Five
Senior Jacob Patten tied for fourth-place in the men's high jump on Saturday afternoon. Patten notched a height of 2.05m, tying with Jyles Etienne from Indiana.

Willington Wright claimed the title of the Tennessee Relays Champion in the men's 400-meter dash on Friday afternoon. The Middle Tennessee freshman claimed gold on the track, crossing with a time of 46.75, just missing his personal best by .22 seconds.
Similarly, Abike Egbeniyi posted a second-place finish in the women's 800-meter with a season-best time of 2:04.04.
Sophomore Lamarco Petty and freshman Willington Wright post third and fourth place finishes in the men's 200-meter dash. Petty crossed the line .01 seconds faster than Wright with a time of 21.05 as Wright finished with a time of 21.06.
