MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – With back-to-back Conference USA Championship trophies now nestled nicely in the Middle Tennessee Men's Golf trophy case, Head Coach Mark McEntire and his squad are set to host an NCAA Regional Selection Show watch party to share the excitement with the Blue Raider faithful.
The NCAA Regional Selection Show airs live on the Golf Channel Wednesday at 8:00 p.m., and the Blue Raiders will host their watch party at The Boulevard Bar & Grille beginning at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
"Our guys have worked so hard this season to get to this point and have this opportunity to compete in the NCAA Regionals," McEntire said. "It would mean the world to our players as well as Kent and I to have a big crowd of our fans there to enjoy the moment with us."
The Blue Raiders captured their second consecutive league title in thrilling fashion on Wednesday with come-from-behind wins by senior Marcus Byrd and junior Tanner Owens downing No. 3 seed Charlotte before a 24-hole match won by sophomore Cooper Sears saw MT defeat No. 1 seed UTSA to hoist the trophy.
This 2019 NCAA Regional appearance will be the third in a row for the Blue Raiders, who hosted the 2017 College Grove Regional and traveled to the 2018 Raleigh Regional.
Middle Tennessee will be competing in their 10th NCAA Regional since 2000 with nine of those coming in the last 12 seasons.
The six NCAA Regional sites the Blue Raiders could be headed to on May 13-15 are Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Washington, hosted by Washington State University; Stanford Golf Course in Stanford, California, hosted by Stanford University; TPC Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, hosted by Coastal Carolina University and Myrtle Beach Regional Sports Alliance; University of Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville, Kentucky, hosted by the University of Louisville; University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Georgia, hosted by the University of Georgia; and University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, Texas, hosted by the University of Texas.
Should the Blue Raiders finish in the Top 5 at their selected NCAA Regional, they would advance to their second NCAA Championship after finishing 15th at the 2008 NCAA Championships in West Lafayette, Ind.
The 2019 NCAA Championships are set to take place from May 24-29 at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark., and are hosted by the University of Arkansas.
