Raiders Travel to Martin for Midweek Showdown

Martin, Tenn.- The Middle Tennessee softball team will travel to Martin, Tennessee for a midweek showdown with the UT Martin Skyhawks on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
The Raiders (21-16 C-USA 6-3) are coming off a C-USA series win against Charlotte. Against the 49ers, the Raiders took two out of three, including an 11 inning victory in game one. The Raiders are 6-0 in games that go into extra innings this season. In the series the Raiders were lead by Sydney Heath who had seven hits, two stolen bases, and played lockdown defense in right field in the series.
The Skyhawks (23-14, OVC 5-3) are coming off a series sweep against Morehead State on Sunday. In the short two game conference series, Martin only needed ten innings total to fend off the Eagles, run ruling them in both games.
Martin is led by Paige Clark who is batting .430, with 46 hits, 25 runs scored, and 19 RBI. The sophomore from Lafayette, Tennessee also leads the Ohio Valley Conference in stolen bases with 24. Raider catchers beware, as a team Martin leads the OVC in stolen bases with 94.
After Martin, the Raiders will return home to face C-USA opponent UAB in a three game series, beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
