Blue Raiders Claim Five Top-Finishes at Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. – The Middle Tennessee men and women's track team rounded off their first day of the Tiger Track Classic hosted by Auburn with five top-five finishes and a first-place position.
Kigen Chemadi claimed the best Blue Raider finish of the afternoon, claiming first in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase. Chemadi crossed the line with a time of 8:55.47, 16 seconds faster than the second place finsher.
On the field, Akera Benton notched a second-place finish in the women's triple jump at the Hutsell-Rosen track on Friday afternoon. Benton inked a 12.00m distance on her final pass of the evening, marking her best of the afternoon.
Blue Raider Top-Five Finishes
Isaac Odugbesan claimed the first Blue Raider top-finish of the afternoon, inking fifth-place ion the field in the hammer throw event. The sophomore claimed a 52.69m distance on his first round of throwing, to mark his best of the afternoon.
Similarly, Willington Wright placed fifth in the men's long jump. Wright posted a 14.64m distance in the field event.
Meanwhile on the track, Racheal Kosgei notched fifth in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:49.96.

Day Two of the Tiger Track Classic
Middle Tennessee will return to the Hutsell-Rosen track tomorrow to round off their weekend in Auburn.
