Raiders Wrap Up the Tiger Track Classic

AUBURN, Ala. – The Blue Raider men and women's track and field teams round off the final day of the Tiger Track Classic in Auburn, Ala. on Saturday afternoon at the Hutsell-Rosen Track. Middle Tennessee claimed five first-place finishes on Saturday afternoon at Auburn, including three individual finishes and two relay first-place finishes.
Blue Raiders Claim Four Top-Finishes in Auburn
Fabian Edoki claimed the first Middle Tennessee top-finish of the afternoon, claiming first-place in the men's long jump event. Edoki jumped a distance of 7.86m on his third pass of the afternoon.
As a relay team, Ida Mensah, Mirlege Castor, Cecilia Francis, and Edidiong Odiong notched gold in the women's 4x100-meter relay with a time of 45.79. Simiarly, the women's 4x400-meter relay notched first with a time of 3:44.68.
In the women's 800-meter race, Abike Egbeniyi claimed first-place, crossing the line at 52.64.
Meanwhile on the field, Isaac Odugbesan notched gold in the men's shot put event, recording a distance of 17.63m. The sophomore inked his best throw on his third pass of the field event.
Middle Tennessee Among the Top-Five
On the field, Omolayo Omosola claimed silver in the women's long jump event. Omosola jumped a distance of 5.66m on her third pass. Likewise, Akera Benton claimed fourth in the event with a distance of 5.55m.
On the men's side, Benjamin Onyekwelu claimed second-place in the men's long jump with a distance of 7.44m.
Senior Jacob Patten notches a fifth-place finish in the men's high jump at the Tiger Classic on Saturday afternoon. Patten recorded his best height of the afternoon in his fifth pass, rounding off the classic with a height of 2.05m.
Meanwhile on the track, Joycelyn Assafuah notched second-place in the women's 800-meter event. Assafuah crossed the line with a time of 53.59. On the men's side, Brian Rono claimed a top-five finish in the men's 800-meter race, finishing fifth with a time of 1:51.05.
In the women's 200-meter dash, Edidiong Odidiong posted a fifth-place finish in the event. Odidiong crossed the line with a time of 24.34. For the men's team, Lamarco Petty claimed fourth in the 200-meter dash, 21.23.
Dennis Kipkorir placed fifth in the men's 3,000-meter race, finishing with a time of 8:45.01.
As a relay team, the men's 4x100-meter team placed fifth with a time of 41.14.
