Raiders Set for MIdweek Game Against UAB

Murfreesboro, Tenn.- The Middle Tennessee softball team will play UAB in a midweek game on Thursday against UAB. The Raiders (25-24, C-USA 9-11) were scheduled to face the Blazers (16-30, C-USA 5-15) earlier in the season, but were forced to reschedule the final game of the series due to inclement weather.
The Raiders are in the midst of their hardest stretch of the season, closing out with three series against C-USA's top teams (WKU, Marshall, and North Texas). The Raiders have dropped seven of their last nine games, stretching back to April 13 against FAU.
The Raiders were swept in their last series against Marshall, only bring two runs across in the three game stint. Marshall was led by pitcher Abigail Tolbert who pitched 16 shutout innings against the Raiders, earning her C-USA Player of the Week honors.
In the doubleheader against UAB earlier this season, the Raiders split with the Blazers before the wash out in the series finale.
The Blazers are coming off a non-conference victory over Samford. UAB pushed across six runs in the game, two which came off the bat of Ole Miss transfer Dylinn Stancil. Stancil had two hits, one home run, two RBI, and scored a run in the winning effort.
UAB is at the bottom of the of the C-USA West division, and is fighting to get in to the conference tournament that is being held in Birmingham, Alabama at the conclusion of the regular season.
The Raiders have a quick turnaround and will head to Denton, Texas to face North Texas in a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1:00 pm CT and will wrap up the regular season on Sunday at noon.

- Brooke McClure has reached base in 20 consecutive appearances this season. McClure hold the longest streak on the team this season.
