Raiders Set to Close Out Regular Season in the Lone Star State

Denton, Texas- The Middle Tennessee softball team looks to finish the regular season strong with one last series in Denton. The Raiders (26-24, C-USA 10-11) will face North Texas (32-16, C-USA 17-4) in a three game series, beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and concluding with a single game on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
In their last game, the Raiders defeated UAB 5-4 on a walk off hit by Brooke McClure in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Raiders were down 3-4, with two runners in scoring position and down to their last out when McClure stepped into the batters box. The sophomore smacked a bloop single that landed in between second base and center field, and score both runners.
With Thursday's win the Raiders secured a spot in the C-USA conference tournament in Birmingham, Ala. May 8-11.
North Texas is currently tied atop the C-USA West division with a conference record of 17-4.
In their last series the Eagles swept UAB in three straight. The Eagles broke their program single season wins record by winning their 32 game of the season in game three against UAB.
North Texas is led by junior Katie Clark. Clark leads C-USA with a .405 batting average.The Katy, Texas native is a machine at the top of the Eagle lineup, she has produced 51 hits, a .442 on base percentage, and 13 stolen bases in 13 attempts.
After concluding the season against North Texas the Raiders will be traveling to Birmingham, Ala. to compete in the C-USA conference tournament on May 8. The Raiders opponent will be detemined at the conclusion of the regular season.
