Chemadi claims two All-American honors at NCAA Championships

AUSTIN, Texas – The Middle Tennessee track and field teams completed the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday evening in Austin, Texas.
Kigen Chemadi competed in two men's events on Friday, earning All-American honors in both final events at Mike A. Myers Stadium. Chemadi claimed first-team All-American in the 3,000-meter steeplechase after finishing third overall. The junior finished with a time of 8:40.22.
In his second event of the evening, Chemadi notched second-team All-American honors in the 5,000 meter. Chemadi posted a 16th place finish, crossing the line with a time of 14:22.92.
Meanwhile on the field, Jacob Patten placed 24th in the men's high jump event on Friday evening. The senior notched a height of 2.10 meters.

Abike Egbeniyi competed in the women's 800 meter preliminary event. During the race, the senior unfortunately got tripped up in the pack during the final 100 meters, finishing 23rd overall with a time of 2:41.62.
