Murphy Center to host 30 regular season games this basketball season
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — With less than a month until Middle Tennessee men's and women's basketball tips off the 2019-20 season, season tickets are now on sale at the Blue Raider Ticket Office.
Men's season tickets are $170, and the women's season tickets are $120, or fans may purchase a combination of both men's and women's season tickets at a discounted rate of $220.
Blue Raider hoops fans have the opportunity to witness history this season, as MT's men enter the season two wins shy of 500 in Murphy Center. After the season opener against Maryville (Nov. 5), the Blue Raiders could potentially reach the milestone win against Mars Hill on Nov. 13.
Rounding out the non-conference home schedule for the men is Belmont (Nov. 30), Columbia International (Dec. 3), St. Bonaventure (Dec. 21) and Rhode Island (Dec. 29).
The Lady Raiders are set to play 15 regular season games in the Glass House, starting with Kentucky on Nov. 10. The Wildcats ended last season as the No. 17-ranked team in the nation and will make their first trip to Murfreesboro since falling to MT in 2017, 62-57.
Also on the non-conference slate for MT's women is Tennessee Tech, Furman, Lipscomb, VCU and TCU. The Horned Frogs ended their season in the WNIT semifinals, while VCU, Furman and Tennessee Tech also played in postseason tournaments last season.
As for the Conference USA slate, MT's men will host three of the top four teams from a year ago: WKU (Jan. 11), Southern Miss (Jan. 25) and UAB (Feb. 15). The Lady Raiders will match up with two teams they faced in last year's C-USA Championship: UTEP (Jan. 30) and UAB (Feb. 20).
Both of MT's hoops teams will host nine C-USA matchups, including two C-USA Bonus Play games apiece.
Antonio Green, Donovan Sims and Reggie Scurry are once again expected to play major minutes for the Blue Raiders. This year, Head Coach Nick McDevitt adds into the mix C.J. Jones, a former Arkansas guard who sat out last season due to NCAA transfer rules. Junior college transfer Jo'Vontae Millner is also expected to make an immediate impact in the post for MT.
MT women's basketball Head Coach Rick Insell has pieced together a team certain to be one of the favorites in C-USA.
Five transfers will join returning starters Taylor Sutton and Anna Jones as Lady Raiders this season: Anastasia Hayes (2018 SEC Sixth Woman of the Year), Eternati Willock (2017 Big 12 All-Freshman Team), Ra'Shika White (2018 CAA Sixth Player of the Year), Rellah Boothe (2017 McDonald's All-American Game MVP), and Shakyna Payne (former Virginia forward).
Included in the season ticket sales are the Lady Raiders' exhibition games against Bethel (Oct. 27) and Martin Methodist (Nov. 1).
Group tickets are also available to groups of 20 or more at $8 each for most home games. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 1-615-898-5261, or visit GoBlueRaiders.com/tickets for more information. The Blue Raider Ticket Office is located at Gate 1A of Floyd Stadium and is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
