Raiders Finish Strong in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Middle Tennessee track and field teams are coming home from the Vanderbilt Invitational with nine Top-10 finishes.
Cecilia Francis was the one Blue Raider to finish in the 60 meter dash, taking 7th place in the women's event with a time of 7.58. Six Blue Raider women placed in the 200 meter dash with Ida Mensah leading the team, coming in at 12th overall with a time of 24.97. Willington Wright was the first Blue Raider male to finish in the men's 200 meter dash, finishing 11th overall with a time of 21.99. Agnes Abrocquah competed in the women's 400 meter dash where she claimed 7th with a time of 56.09.
The Blue Raider men had a strong showing in the men's 800 meter run with two runners finishing top-10. Brian Rono finished 4th overall with a time of 1:49.83 and freshman Titus Lagat took 7th place with a time of 1:51.58. Kigen Chemadi and Jacob Choge had top-10 finishes in the men's one mile run, with Chemadi finishing 6th overall (4:00.46) and Choge taking 8th (4:00.82).
Joice Jebor showed a strong performance in the women's 3,000 meter run, taking 5th place with a time of 9:40.28. Eusila Chepkemei also placed in the 3,000 meter, coming in a 10th with a time of 9:43.87. Lebo Mosito competed in the men's 3,000 meter and claimed 18th overall with a time of 8:31.37.
Both the men's relay B team and the women's B team placed in the 4x400m relay, with the men's team taking 10th place with a time of 3:21.03 and the women's team coming in at 8th overall with a time of 3:53.84.
Akera Benton placed in both jumping events she competed in, claiming 12th in the women's long jump (5.82m) and 15th in the women's triple jump (11.65m).
