Lady Raiders Look to Bounce Back After Falling to LA Tech

Murfreesboro, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee women's basketball team heads to Hattiesburg, Mississippi for their last of two road games before returning to the Murphy Center for a bout with UTEP. The Lady Raiders look to bounce back against Southern Miss after falling to LA Tech 60-78.

About the Lady Raiders
•Charity Savage is currently ranked eighth in the country and ranks at the top of C-USA in rebounds per game with 11.3. With 214 rebounds this season, Savage is inching her way closer and closer to breaking the top-25 in rebounds in a single season. Savage will need 240 boards to chisel her name into the Lady Raider record book next to greats like Icelyn Elie, Tawanya Mucker, and Ileana Portik at the number 23 spot on the list.
•Anastasia Hayes is currently second in C-USA in scoring with 17.4 points per game. Hayes is not far off the top spot and trails the leading Rachael Childress from UAB with 17.5 points per game. Hayes has a total of 330 points this season.
•Middle Tennessee has four players (Anastasia Hayes, Aislynn Hayes, Taylor Sutton, and Charity Savage) that rank in the top-10 in the conference in minutes played. Combined MT's four players have played 2,674 minutes for an average of 35.2 minutes a game.
Scouting the Golden Eagles
•Shonte Hailes leads Southern Miss in scoring and is the third leading scorer in C-USA with 16.7 points per game.
•Daishai Almond is fifth in the conference in assists per game with 4.0. Almond has 68 dimes through 17 on the season.
•Fouling the Golden Eagles won't slow them down, Southern Miss is shooting 73.1 percent from the charity stripe this season.

•The Blue Raiders are 3-9 all-time against Southern Miss and are 0-4 in Hattiesburg.
•The Lady Raiders topped Southern Miss in their last meeting 66-49 on Jan. 10, 2019 in the Murphy Center.

•The Lady Raiders fell to LA Tech 60-78 in Ruston on Thursday.
•Anastasia Hayes recorded a new career high in points with 25 against the Techsters. Hayes scored 22 points against Kentucky on Nov. 10 and has score 20 or more points in five games this season.
•Both Alexis Whittington and Charity Savage recorded career highs in blocks. Savage swatted away five Techster shots and Whittington followed suit with three of her own.
•Charity Savage collected double figure rebounds for the 15th time this season. Savage pulled down 12 boards, seven of which came on the defensive glass.
