Lin named CUSA Freshman of the Week

DALLAS – After a breakout week off the bench, Middle Tennessee freshman guard Yu Han Lin has been named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
The honor marks the first weekly award of Lin's career and makes her the third different Blue Raider to earn Freshman of the Week honors this season, joining Blair Baugus (five times) and Macie Phifer (once), while giving Middle Tennessee seven total Freshman of the Week awards in 2025–26.
Lin played a key role in guiding the Blue Raiders to the most dominant 2–0 week in Conference USA play this season, highlighted by an 86–43 win over UTEP and an 88–51 victory over NM State.
She opened the week with a team-high 18 points in just 15 minutes off the bench against the Miners, shooting 7-of-12 from the field, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc, while going a perfect 2-for-2 at the free-throw line.
Lin followed with another efficient outing against the Aggies, tallying 15 points in 19 minutes off the bench. She added two assists and two steals while shooting 6-of-9 from the field and a perfect 2-of-2 from three-point range.
Across the two games, Lin averaged 16.5 points in just 17.0 minutes per contest, shooting 61.9 percent from the floor and 80.0 percent from three-point range, providing instant offense and energy in two of the largest margin-of-victory wins in league play this season.
Lin, a native of Hualien, Taiwan, is one of just three players from Taiwan currently competing in NCAA Division I basketball, joining Jean Chiu (Washington State) on the women's side and Jerry Huang (Utah) in men's basketball.
