NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee track and field teams competed in the Ed Temple Classic Sunday in Nashville. Between the men's and women's teams, the Blue Raiders saw 14 top 10 and 10 podium performances on the day.

Cecilia Francis took first place in the women's 55 meter dash with a time of 7.10s, and Ida Mensah also had a podium finish coming in at second place in the women's 200 meter dash. Willington Wright finished first overall in men's 200 meter dash with a time of 21.92s, followed by Jaquez Torian who finished second with a time of 22.06s. Matthew Stewart saw two top 10 finishes in sprints, coming in at first in the men;s 400 meter dash (50.65s) and 6th in the men's 200 meter dash (22.48s).

Conference USA Cross Country Male Athlete of the Year Jacob Choge stole the gold in the men's 800 meter with a time of 1:52.04.

Akera Benton finished top five in two events, coming in at first overall in the women's long jump (5.86m) and third in the women's triple jump (11.77m). Kyle Teague also finished top five in th men's high jump, finishing third overall (1.77m).
