Blue Raiders Set for Jim Green Invitational

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee track and field teams are headed to Lexington, Ky. this weekend for the Jim Green Invitational where they will compete against 18 other teams.
The meet is set to begin on Friday starting with the men's and women's high jump at 12:30 p.m. CT. Saturday will start off with the shot put and triple jump events at 10 a.m. CT and the first track event will be the women's 60 meter dash at 11 p.m. CT.
Last weekend, the Blue Raiders competed in the Ed Temple Classic where they saw 14 top 10 performances, 10 of which were top three. Cecilia Francis, Willington Wright and Matthew Stewart all finished first in sprints, Jacob Choge placed first in the men's 800 meter run and Akera Benton took first in the women's long jump.
One Blue Raider, senior Kigen Chemadi, will be traveling to Birmingham, Ala. for the Blazer Invitational hosted by UAB on Friday, where he will compete in the men's 3,000-meter run. The event is scheduled to begin at 5:45 p.m. and live results will be available here.
