MT collects nine wins

MACON, GA - The Middle Tennessee women's tennis team finished the Mercer Gridiron Classic with a solid showing during the weekend, capturing nine wins in Macon, Ga.

Lee Barnard, Lidia Burrows and sophomore Muskan Gupta recorded a 2-1 record in singles on the weekend. Senior Zani Barnard earned the seventh singles win at the Gridiron Classic with a win over Young of Chattanooga 7-6 (4), 4-6, 1-0 (8).

The Raiders collected two doubles wins as Zani Barnard and Muskan Gupta took down Gibbens and Vane Hee of Chattanooga, 8-6. Freshman Liliana Danajovski won her first doubles with Gupta as they topped Khrustaleva and Svitlica of Troy.

The Blue Raiders return to action as they host the MTSU Invite at the Adams Tennis Complex on Oct. 16-18.
