Lady Raiders Face Rice in C-USA Championship Rematch

Murfreesboro, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's basketball remains in Texas to take on Rice Saturday afternoon in Houston. The Lady Raiders are on a four-game win streak, after coming out victorious in a battle with North Texas on Thursday.

- Charity Savage continues to lead C-USA in rebounding with her 11.2 rebounds per game and holds the ninth spot in the country. The senior ranks fourth in the country in total rebounds with 258 on the season. Savage passed Olivia Jones in program history single season rebounds to claim the 19th spot.
- Anastasia Hayes ranks 45th in the nation and leads the conference in scoring with 17.7 points per game.
- Taylor Sutton is second in the conference for her 2.7 3-point field goals made per game.
Scouting the Owls
- The defending C-USA Champions are 15-6 overall, 10-0 in C-USA and have won 29 consecutive league games. They are also second in conference for scoring defense, allowing 55.7 points per game.
- Rice is led by Erica Ogwumike, the reigning C-USA Player of the Year and Preseason Player of the Year. She averages 17.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per outing.
- Nancy Mulkey averages 11.2 points and 6.1 rebounds.
All-Time vs. Rice
- MT and Rice meet for the 11th time and all of the meetings have taken place as C-USA members. The Lady Raiders lead the all-time series, 7-3.
- The game is a rematch of the 2019 C-USA Championship, when MT fell to Rice 54-69 in Frisco, Texas.
- HC Rick Insell is 7-3 against Rice and MT is 1-0 vs. Rice in Houston, Texas.
Last Time Out
- The Lady Raiders came from behind to defeat North Texas 80-60 Thursday evening in Denton after trailing by 13 in the first quarter.
- Anastasia Hayes collected a career-high 33 points on the game, the most by a Lady Raider since the C-USA semifinals last March.
- Freshmen Aislynn Hayes and Courtney Whitson each scored 13 points on the night. Whitson scored eight of her 13 in the fourth quarter alone to help the Lady Raiders secure the win.
