MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Blue Raiders women's tennis will be hosting the ITA Division-I Women's Ohio Valley Regional Championship at the Adams Tennis Center in Murfreesboro. The tournament will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 20, and finish Monday, Oct. 25.
Six of MT women's tennis student-athletes will represent the blue and white this week in singles and doubles. In her freshman year, Love-Star Alexis reached the Round of 32 in singles at ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championship. In doubles, Lee and Zani Barnard advanced to the Main Draw Quarterfinals at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional in 2019.
Draws will be released Wednesday night.
QUOTING HEAD COACH TAYO BAILEY-DUVALL
"We are looking forward to competing in this year's regional championship, as it was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is always exciting to be able to compete against some of the top players of the region and some of the top players in college tennis. We have had a couple of good practices since our trip to Indiana. Everyone is playing very solid and I am excited to see us compete and apply some of the important tactics and mindsets we have been working on at practice."
UP NEXT
Middle Tennessee will turn its attention to the Louisville Tennis Classic at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Friday, Oct. 29.
