Lykke named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Freshman forward Kirstine Lykke was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week after posting the best performance of her young career, helping lead the Blue Raiders to a 3-2 victory over the Marshall Thundering Herd on senior day.
The honor marks the Blue Raiders second of the season and the first weekly honor for the young dynamic freshman.
Lykke netted her first-ever career brace against the Thundering Herd. She set a new career-high with three shots on goal, while finishing the contest and tying her career-high with six total shots in the regular-season finale.
The Haderslev, Denmark native has scored a team second-best five goals, while also dishing out a pair of assists for a total of 12 points during the 2021 regular season. Lykke is second on the team in shots taken with 33 and is tied for second for shots on target this season with 12.
No. 3-seed Middle Tennessee Soccer is preparing for the 2021 C-USA Women's Soccer Championship, which the Blue Raiders will face the No. 2-seeded Rice Owls on Wednesday, Nov. 3 at FAU Soccer Stadium in Boca Raton, Florida.
