Blue Raiders Heading to Troy for First Round of NIVC

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders are heading into the postseason for the first time since 2011 as they have been selected to play in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship. Their first-round matchup will be in Trojan Arena against Troy (17-12) on Friday, December 3 at 6:30 p.m. CT. The winner will take on the victor of North Florida (24-7) and UNC Greensboro (23-7), which will be played directly before the Blue Raider's match.

After years of steady improvement, the Blue Raiders are reaping the benefits of what they've sowed. Middle Tennessee posted their best record since joining Conference USA in 2013 and reached the conference semifinals for the first time since 2011 when they were in the Sun Belt Conference.

NIVC Information
The National Invitational Volleyball Championship is an annual tournament that involves 32-40 teams. All games, including the semifinals and championship, are hosted by participating schools. Every round is single elimination. Eight teams host Rounds 1 & 2 in 4 to 5 team pods; single matches in Rounds 3-5. The championship game will be streamed by the host school. The tournament was not held in 2020 due to COVID-19.

Semifinals – Dec. 8-11
Championship – Dec. 13 or 14
