Volleyball heads to Miami to face FIU

MIAMI, Fla. – Middle Tennessee Volleyball is on the road to Miami to take on FIU for two more matches of Conference USA play. The Blue Raiders will clash with the Panthers on Friday, November 7 at 5:00 p.m. CT and again on Saturday, November 8 at 12:00 p.m.
The Blue Raiders are looking to bounce back after a tough weekend battling WKU. Raegan Durbin and Michaela Dlouhá led the Middle Tennessee offense, Durbin with 21 kills on the weekend and Dlouhá with 16. Trinniti Stevens and Ryan Oden each saw career high figures in the second match with the Hilltoppers; Stevens posted eight kills and Oden notched six digs. Logan Carr tied a Blue Raider season high six blocks against Western Kentucky in the first contest of the weekend, the best defensive performance of the series for the Blue Raiders.
Middle Tennessee as a team is third in Conference USA in digs per set, fourth in total digs and fifth in opponent hitting percentage. The Blue Raiders are also 106th in the nation in team digs and 126th in opponent efficiency.
Scouting the FIU Panthers
FIU enters the weekend 16-9 under the leadership of Cristina Robertson in her fourth season. The Panthers are fourth in the Conference USA standings with a 10-2 conference mark.
This FIU Panthers squad is second in Conference USA in kills, assists, digs and service aces. Savannah Cook distributes the Panthers offense, first in the conference in assists per set and second in total assists. Senior outside hitter Kira Givans leads FIU offensively with 319 kills on the season. Mandi Morioka leads the Panther defense with 404 digs, third most in Conference USA.
Middle Tennessee is 30-14 against FIU all-time. The Blue Raiders took both conference matchups last season, currently on a two-game winning streak against the Panthers. The matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
