Blue Raiders close out fall schedule this weekend at Stetson Invite

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's tennis team heads to DeLand, Florida to compete in their final competition of the fall season at the Stetson Invite on Friday, November 5 and Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
Six Blue Raiders will be making the trip to the Sunshine State. Love-Star Alexis, Lee Barnard, Zani Barnard, Muskan Gupta, Noelle Mauro, and Lilly-Sophie Schmidt will be competing for Middle Tennessee this weekend.
During the Louisville Classic, Gupta and Schmidt earned a 6-4 win over Louisville's Verma and Simova to start the opening day. Schmidt followed it up with a straight-set singles win over Ball State's Malykh, 6-4, 6-2. On Saturday, Mauro and L. Barnard kicked things off with an impressive 6-2 win over Peeler and Davies of Ball State. Gupta and Schmidt earned their second doubles win of the weekend, taking a tight 7-5 battle against Louisville's Sawyer and Chaika. Middle Tennessee closed out the day with a trio of singles wins, as Gupta defeated Nobbs of DePaul, 6-2, 6-0, Z. Barnard took a straight-set win over the Blue Demons' Yergler, 6-3, 6-1, and Mauro captured a three-set win against DePaul's Rand, 6-7(3), 7-5, 10-4.

"We are looking forward to our final invite at Stetson this weekend. We have been working hard at adding a few more tools to our games in preparation for the spring season, and we will be able to build more confidence in them this weekend. We are performing well overall and look to get a few more quality wins this weekend."
