Middle Tennessee brings in Sheldon McKnight

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee men's golf is pleased to announce the addition of Sheldon McKnight, who has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Blue Raiders. McKnight comes to Murfreesboro from the Baylor School in Chattanooga.
A five-year starter for Baylor, McKnight has helped his team to three TSSAA Division II-AA State Championships and qualified for the state championships all five years. As an eighth grader in 2019, he tied for 19th at state, following that up with a third-place finish in 2019, an individual title in 2020 and a tie for second in 2021. He has also been the Baylor Preview Individual Champion twice, winning the tournament in 2019 and 2021.
On the amateur circuit, he has played in three Tennessee Junior Cups and tied for fourth in the 2021 Tennessee Junior Amateur.
McKnight has been playing golf since the age of 12 and made his first hole-in-one that same year. The son of Steve and Amy McKnight, Sheldon has prior ties to MTSU. His brother, Mason, is a student in Middle Tennessee's Aerospace program.
