Blue Raiders Set for C-USA Indoor Track & Field Championships

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee men's and women's track and field teams will compete at the 2021 C-USA Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held Saturday, Feb. 20 through Sunday, Feb. 21 at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala.

C-USA Indoor Track & Field Championships Rewind
Middle Tennessee saw six women earn seven first-team accolades last season, and the men saw four competitors earn seven first-team honors on their way to second and third-place finishes, respectively.
The Blue Raiders won five C-USA titles throughout the weekend and returns all five of those champions this season (Cecilia Francis, 60m | Brian Rono, 800m | Jacob Choge, 1 Mile | Kigen Chemadi, 3000m | Esther Isa, High Jump).
Top-Five C-USA Marks:
Middle Tennessee has posted five top-five marks in C-USA this season.
#1 – Cecilia Francis - 60m, 7.34
#1 – Esther Isa - High Jump, 5' 10" (1.78m)
#1 – Benjamin Onyekwelu - Long Jump, 24' 1" (7.34m)
#2 – Cecilia Francis - 200m, 24.55
#2 – Agnes Abrocquah – 400m, 55.15
#2 – Erhi Omamuyovwi - High Jump, 6'11.75" (2.13m)
#5 - Matthew Stewart - 400m, 49.16

Cecilia Francis 60m time (7.34) at the Music City Challenge in mid-February stands at No. 25 in the country. Esther Isa's 5' 10" (1.78m) mark in the high jump ranks 23rd nationally, and Erhi Omamuyovwi 6'11.75" (2.13m) mark stands at No. 23.
