Middle Tennessee women's tennis coach Tayo Bailey-Duvall announced Tuesday the signing of Eloise Swarbrick to the class of 2021.
"We are very excited to add Eloise to the Blue Raider family this fall," said Bailey-Duvall. "Eloise has the ability to compete at a high level while showing mental and emotional toughness and that is what our program is about. I am very much looking forward to working with her and helping her reach her greatest potential on the court."
Swarbrick comes to Murfreesboro from Hawkesdale, Australia, where she has been playing tennis when she was five years old, following in the footsteps of her older siblings.
In the last couple of years, Swarbrick has had much success on the court as she has been elected for the Victorian State Tennis Team to compete in the School Sport Australia championships. She also won her first tournament title in Warrnambool as well as was one of 16 school students selected to play in the National Schools Tennis Championships in Adelaide, playing a combination of singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
After her training was interrupted last spring because of Covid-19, Swarbrick gained valuable experience playing against highly ranked opponents on the Australian Pro Tour last summer.
