BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Middle Tennessee baseball team will travel to Birmingham, Ala. to begin Conference USA play with a four-game series against UAB. After dropping a series, 3-1, at Memphis last weekend the Blue Raiders look to bounce back against the Blazers. Times for the weekend series have been altered due to weather in the forecast.

About the Blue Raiders
» Junior Aaron Brown struck out a career-high 13 batters in the Blue Raiders', 1-0, loss at Memphis on Sunday, March 19. Brown and Memphis starter Blake Wimberley combined for 25 strikeouts in the game. Brown ranks second in the NCAA with 50 strikeouts this season. The Mt. Juliet native has struck out double digit batters three times this season.
» Fausto Lopez continues to be a force on the base paths, swiping 12 so far this season. The junior is tied for fifth in the NCAA rankings. As a team the Blue Raiders rank No. 2 nationally behind only Louisville with 50 steals.
» Zach Keenan is No. 9 nationally with a 0.51 WHIP, having given up one free pass and 14 hits in 29.2 innings pitched. Keenan also has a team best 0.61 ERA in 10 or more innings pitched.

Scouting The Blazers
» The Blazers are currently 7-11 this season, with wins over Valparaiso, Alabama A&M, Kennesaw State, and Indiana State.
» Sophomore Jess Davis leads the team in average (.338), runs (20), hits (25), runs batted in (16), and stolen bases (10). Davis also has seven multi-hit games including a 4-for-6 day against Alabama A&M earlier this season.
» The Blazers are led on the mound by junior Riley Davis who has a 1-1 record in five starts. Davis has a 2.40 ERA to go along with a team best 27 strikeouts.

» After the conference opening series in Birmingham, the Blue Raiders will return to Reese Smith Jr. Field for the first time in 18 days for a weekend series against Rice. The series against the Owls will start on Thursday, April 1 under the lights at 6 PM.
