MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A trifecta of Middle Tennessee pitchers have earned Conference USA honors on the eve of their first conference tournament appearance in six years. Left-hander David Zoz and righty Aaron Brown were named to All-Conference teams and Adam Link was named to the C-USA All-Academic team.
Zoz was voted to the All-Conference First Team by posting a team low 1.63 ERA and has held opposing to just a .201 batting average over 22 appearances. Zoz's 6-2 record is the best winning percentage on the team and is tied for most wins with teammate Aaron Brown.
Zoz is the eighth Blue Raider to be named to the All-Conference First Team and joins MT greats Austin Dennis, Aaron Aucker, Riley Delgado, Trent Miller, Zac Curtis, and Jared Allen
Brown was named to the All-Conference Second Team for his performance in 2021. The Mt. Juliet native has struck out 107 batters over 13 starts, a mark that is most in C-USA, is tied for No. 20 nationally, and is seventh most for a single season in Middle Tennessee program history. The right-hander's 107:13 strikeout-to-walk ratio is No. 6 nationally and Brown is just one of seven pitchers in the top 50 with 100 strikeouts or more.
Brown joins Nate Hoffmann, Brad Jarreau, Riley Delgado, Aaron Aucker, Jake Wyrick, and teammate Peyton Wigginton as Blue Raiders who have been named to the All-Conference Second Team.
