Men's Hoops league slate released by C-USA

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Conference USA's new-look divisional format for the 2021-22 men's basketball schedule is now official with the league office releasing the full league slate for the upcoming season on Thursday.
Head Coach Nick McDevitt's fourth season at the helm of the program will see the Blue Raiders return to Thursday-Saturday home and road swings against different opponents within each week.
The difference from past C-USA schedules prior to the 2020-21 season – which was changed drastically due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols – is the divide into East and West divisions which will see each team play their divisional opponents at home and away while facing only six of their seven cross-divisional foes, three at home and three on the road.
Middle Tennessee opens the conference slate on Dec. 30 when it hosts UTSA in Murphy Center before welcoming UTEP to town on New Year's Day.
After a road swing to Rice (Jan. 6) and North Texas (Jan. 8), the Raiders are back defending the Glass House against their first East division foes – Florida Atlantic (Jan. 13) and FIU (Jan. 15).
MT then has a long week of preparation for a Saturday home contest against Southern Miss (Jan. 22) before closing out January on the road against Marshall (Jan. 27) and rival WKU (Jan. 29).
February opens with a third consecutive road game at UAB (Feb. 5), with the former travel partners facing off just once in the regular season for the first time since MT joined Conference USA in 2013-14.
Middle Tennessee's remaining home stands include games against Old Dominion (Feb. 10), Charlotte (Feb. 13), Marshall (Feb. 24) and WKU (Feb. 26), while its last two road swings will feature games at FIU (Feb. 17), Florida Atlantic (Feb. 19), Charlotte (Mar. 2) and Old Dominion (Mar. 5).
Louisiana Tech – who the Blue Raiders were unable to face in 2020-21 due to the February snowstorm that swept across the south – is the one West division foe who will not feature on MT's regular season schedule in 2021-22.
The 2021-22 Conference USA Championships will be played on March 9-12 and will return for the fifth consecutive year to the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
