Men's Golf Readies for Jim Rivers Intercollegiate

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee Men's Golf plays its second tournament of 2021-22 this week, traveling to Louisiana for the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate, hosted by Louisiana Tech. The 20-team field will play on the Par-72, 7,105-yard course at Squire Creek Country Club and Golf Course, named the top golf course in Louisiana by Golf Digest. Tee times will start at 7:30 a.m. on both Sunday and Monday and at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
NOTES
- Sophomore Kevin Jegers led the Blue Raiders with a score of +3 (71-70-78=219) to tie for 10th at the Island Resort Intercollegiate to start the fall season.
- Middle Tennessee is coming off a tie for fourth place at the Island Resort Intercollegiate
- The Blue Raiders captured four team tournament titles last season, including winning the C-USA championship in match play. It was the most team titles in a season for MT since the 2007-08 campaign.
- The field features two Top-50 teams in LSU (No. 32), Little Rock (No. 43). In addition to the 19 teams competing, individuals from Tennessee will be playing.
HEAD COACH MARK MCENTIRE ON THE PAST WEEK'S ADJUSTMENTS
"I thought in our first tournament we got off to a good start, and it was a solid finish," head coach Mark McEntire said. "But I don't feel like we were able to prepare the way that we wanted to. So this week, we've really tried to focus on our short games and get back into the swing of things with some team competition. We're just trying to get ready for a good tournament this week. It's a great field, and we're going to see a bunch of teams from Conference USA. It would be nice to get off to a good start against them."
