Wednesday’s Game Halted after Three Innings Due to Rain

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders had taken a 2-1 lead into the fourth inning on Wednesday against the Wallace State Lions. However, a line of strong storms and heavy rains would arrive at Blue Raider Softball field roughly an hour into the contest, and Mother Nature's fury would be too much to overcome as play was forced to be halted for the evening.
The Lions scored their only run of the abbreviated afternoon in the top of the first, but would be limited to just that single run thanks to an out at the plate to end the frame.
Raiders first baseman Ansley Blevins would help mount a response in the bottom half of the inning with double to the warning track, and would score on an E4 an at-bat later.
Gretchen Mead pitched the three frames for Middle Tennessee.

The Blue Raiders' final game this fall is this Sunday, with a 1 p.m. first pitch against Cleveland State Community College.
