Maneth, Stamper in top 20 through one round at Trinity Forest

DALLAS, Texas — Carter Maneth and Owen Stamper started strong at the Trinity Forest Invitational, as each finished the first round in the top 20 Sunday. Maneth is tied for 13th at 70 (-2), and Stamper is in a tie for 18th at 71 (-1) as Middle Tennessee is tied for eighth as a team at 289 (+1).
Maneth, a native of Texarkana, Texas, birdied three holes while carding just one bogey to tie his best round of the season.
Stamper started hot with birdies on three of his first seven holes after starting on the 10th. A pair of bogeys on holes 5 and 6 brought him closer to par, but he finished with his fourth straight round of under-par golf.
Gavin Clements and Michael Barnard are tied for 51st at 74 (+2). Barnard led the Blue Raiders with five birdies Sunday, but three bogeys and two double bogeys kept him out of the top 50 individually. Clements recorded a pair of birdies of his own, including one on the first hole he played.
Kevin Jegers rounds out the Blue Raider lineup at 77 (+5), tied for 74th individually.
