MTSU Set to Play UAB and WKU This Weekend

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee volleyball team is set to play two Conference USA matches this week. The Blue Raiders will play host to the UAB Blazers on Friday, October 21 at 6:00 p.m. CT. They'll then travel to Bowling Green on Sunday, October 23 for a matchup with WKU at 12:00 p.m. CT. Friday's match will be streamed on ESPN+ while Sunday's match will be streamed by WKU on Facebook.
Last week the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (13-7, 2-4 C-USA) played possibly their best ball of the season in a sweep over the FAU Owls. A couple days later they dropped a five-set thriller with FIU to split their weekend series.

The UAB Blazers (8-11, 3-4 C-USA) survived a five-set thriller against MTSU on their home court, just barely winning the last set 16-14. Since then, the Blazers have gone 1-3 in conference, winning their last match in four sets over Louisiana Tech.
UAB leads the all-time series 17-12 and are currently on a one-match win streak against the Blue Raiders.

The #23 WKU Hilltoppers (19-2, 7-0 C-USA) are taking on the Blue Raiders for the second and last time of the regular season. The Hilltoppers beat the Blue Raiders in three sets, which included two sets where the Blue Raiders held 18-14 leads.
WKU Volleyball's 51-match conference winning streak is the longest of the sort in NCAA Division I. Louisville (37), Creighton (21), and Florida A&M (20) are the only other programs with at least a 20-match conference winning streak.
WKU leads the all-time series 53-16 and is on a 20-match win streak, last topping the Blue Raiders this September.
