FAU Defeats Middle Tennessee 3-0 on Senior Day
10/23/2022 2:41:00 PM | Women's Soccer
MURFREESBORO, Tenn.— The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders looked to pick up a win over the Florida Atlantic Owls on Sunday, but it wasn't to be as they fell to FAU 3-0 on senior day.
The first shot on goal didn't come until the 29' of the first half, and it found the intended target as FAU midfielder Gi Krstec scored her second goal of the season to put the Owls up 1-0.
At the 7' mark of the second half, FAU stretched the lead to 2-0 on a header that was put in by Mia Sennes off an assist on a corner kick by Hailey Landrus. About five minutes later, Middle Tennessee keeper Hannah Suder made a great save on a shot from deep in the box by FAU's Thelma Hermannsdottir, but Hermannsdottir was able to regain possession and score off the rebound to put FAU up 3-0.
Senior Day
Middle Tennessee celebrated the accomplishments of its' six seniors after the match.
Suder will finish her career in the top 10 in several statistical categories among keepers. Forwards Cambell Kivisto, Gentry Davis and Elizabeth Slavinsky were all a crucial part of helping the Blue Raiders get back to postseason play as a part of their 2021 Conference USA Tournament appearance. Defender Jennifer Francis provided great depth to a largely successful Blue Raider backline in her career while fellow defender Caroline Manley has started all 59 games in her career, thus far.
