Stamper, Jegers move into top 10 in second round

Blue Raiders finish Monday in fourth place
CHARLESTON, S.C. — Owen Stamper and Kevin Jegers made big moves in the second round of the Daniel Island Intercollegiate on Monday. Stamper ended the round tied for second individually at 146 (+2), while Jegers finished the day in a tie for ninth at 148 (+6).
The Blue Raiders head into the third round in fourth place as a team at 601 (+25). MTSU took seven strokes off its first-round score with a 297 (+9) Monday.
Stamper and Jegers moved up from a tie for 14th at the start of the round. The two carded five birdies apiece in the second round after notching two each Sunday, as Stamper carded a 71 (-1) and Jegers posted a 73 (+1). Stamper was one of five players under par in the second round.
Thanks in part to a sixth-hole eagle, Michael Barnard shaved two strokes off his first-round score for a 76 (+2) Monday. He and Tate Heintzelman are tied for 49th at 154 (+10).
Gavin Clements shot a 77 (+5) Monday to end the round tied for 75th at 159 (+15).
Playing as an individual, Carter Maneth is tied for 67th at 157 (+13).
