MTSU Drops Match with No. 20 WKU in C-USA Quarterfinals

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Middle Tennessee volleyball played visitor to the host team, Western Kentucky, on Friday as they opened up the 2022 Conference USA Tournament. The match saw two close sets in a three-set battle between the one seed and eight seed.
The Blue Raiders (15-14, 4-10 C-USA) dropped the quarterfinals matchup against No. 20 Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (27-2, 14-0 C-USA), with set scores of 21-25, 12-25, and 21-25. The Hilltoppers improved their nation-leading conference win streak to 59 in-a-row, the net closest being Creighton at 29.
Freshman Adri Rhoda led the Blue Raiders with 13 kills (13-5-29) on a .276 hitting percentage. Rhoda also had a team-leading four service aces to help give her a match-leading 18 total points on the day, the next closest being 5.5 points.

24: Freshman Caroline Macander had a career-high 24 assists in today's match to go along with a kill.

- Rhoda ended with 67 service aces on the season, giving her first place on the 25-point scoring era records list and giving her fourth on the all-time season list. Rhoda also tied for seventh on the career-service aces list in the 25-point era.
- Banton sits at 1,263 career digs, giving her sole possession of first place in the 25-point era for career digs. She will finish her career at sixth on the all-time list.
- Oscarson extended her 25-point era record for single season solo blocks at 25.
