MTSU Drops Three-Set Match to UTEP on Friday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The Middle Tennessee volleyball team showed signs of light on Friday night, but ultimately dropped the match in El Paso. The three-set match saw the Blue Raiders hit .169 and rack up eight total blocks.
The Blue Raiders (15-10, 4-7 C-USA) lost their first match against the UTEP Miners (13-10, 3-8 C-USA) in three years, with set scores of 23-25, 16-25, and 22-25.
Freshman Adri Rhoda led the way for the Blue Raiders, racking up a match-leading nine kills on 22 attempts to go along with two service aces. Senior Kaylee Oscarson had three kills on four attempts as the Blue Raiders were unable to get her the ball enough.
By the Numbers
.329: The Blue Raiders allowed an opponent hitting percentage of .329, which is the third highest percentage allowed this season behind matches to WKU and UAB.

- Rhoda has 59 service aces on the season already, giving her first place on the 25-point scoring era records list and tying her for fifth on the all-time season list. Rhoda also took sole possession of 10th on the career-service aces list in the 25-point era tonight..
- Banton currently sits at 1,220 career digs, giving her sole possession of first place in the 25-point era for career digs. She currently sits in seventh on the all-time list.
- Oscarson holds the 25-point era record for single season solo blocks at 23 and counting.
