MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee head coach Rick Insell announced the addition of back-to-back All-West Tennessee Player of the Year and two-time Tennessee Miss Basketball finalist Jada Harrison during the first day of the NCAA Early Signing Period Wednesday.
"Jada fits our program to a T in the fact that she's a team player," Insell said. "It's not about her as much as it's about what she can do to make our program successful. That's one of the reasons we recruited her."
Harrison, a dynamic guard out of Martin, Tenn., led Westview High School to its first state championship since 1996 last season as the tournament's MVP.
A three-time TSWA All-State Selection, Harrison averaged 16.2 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals per game in 2021-22 and 17.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists and two steals per game as a sophomore in 2020-21.
"Last year she was up for Miss Basketball and probably will be up again," Insell said. "She's a big-time player that chose us over several Power Five schools. We couldn't be more excited to add a high-caliber player with a championship mentality to our program."
