Blue Raiders look to keep momentum going at Loyola Intercollegiate

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee men's golf is back in action starting Sunday at the Loyola Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Ariz. The tournament, hosted by Loyola University Maryland, will take place Feb. 20-22 at Palm Valley Golf Club.
The Blue Raiders are coming off a strong start to the spring slate at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational. MT claimed the team title, while Kevin Jegers won the individual crown, setting the program record for the lowest individual 54-hole score at 201 (-15). The Blue Raiders finished 22 strokes ahead of second-place Oral Roberts.
The tournament starts each day with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. CT.
WEATHER
The forecast in Goodyear calls for highs in the 70s with virtually no chance of rain during the tournament.
NOTES
- Middle Tennessee has finished in the top five as a team four times in five tournaments this season.
- Jegers' win was the first of his collegiate career. He was named Conference USA Co-Player of the Week on Wednesday for his efforts.
- Michael Barnard leads the Blue Raiders with a stroke average of 71.08 this season.
- Transfer Jack Heath made his Blue Raider debut last weekend after playing the 2020-21 season at San Diego State.
- At No. 86, Middle Tennessee is the highest-ranked team by Golfstat out of the 18-team field.
