Blue Raiders headed to CBI as No. 2 seed

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Blue Raider men's basketball isn't done just yet. Middle Tennessee has accepted an invitation to the 2022 Roman College Basketball Invitational. The 16-team tournament will take place at the Daytona Beach Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Fla., from March 19-23.
The Blue Raiders open the tournament Saturday as the No. 2 seed, taking on No. 15 seed California Baptist at 4 pm CT. Advance tickets for the tournament are available through Ticketmaster. Tickets on the day of the game must be purchased on site.
This will be MT's first appearance in the CBI and 16th postseason tournament berth in program history. The Blue Raiders will be playing their first postseason basketball since the 2018 NIT.
The first two rounds of the tournament will be broadcast on FloHoops, with the first round taking place March 19-20 and the second March 21. ESPN2 will carry the semifinals (March 22) and championship game (March 23).
The tournament field consists of No. 1 seed Drake, No. 2 Middle Tennessee, No. 3 Ohio, No 4 Stephen F. Austin, No. 5 Florida Atlantic, No.6 Abilene Christian, No. 7 UNC Greensboro, No. 8 VMI, No. 9 UNC Wilmington, No. 10 Boston U, No. 11 Troy, No. 12 Northern Colorado, No. 13 UNC Asheville, No. 14 Rice, No. 15 California Baptist and No. 16 IPFW. Conference USA leads the field with three selections among the 16 teams.
