Chepkemei and Isa Sweep Women's Performers of the Meet Honors for C-USA Championship

DALLAS – The Conference USA office announced on Wednesday that Eusila Chepkemei was named Track Performer of the Meet and Esther Isa was named Field Performer of the Meet for their Women's C-USA Championship performances.
Eusila Chepkemei had an out-of-this-world weekend in Birmingham. On day one, Chepkemei helped lead MT to a DMR program-record finish with a team time of 11:30.59. Their gold-medal performance was 6.5 seconds faster than the previous record.
On day two, Chepkemei became the first female in Conference USA history to sweep the 800-meter, mile, and 3000-meter. Chepkemei's three first-place finishes on day two included a program record-breaking performance in the 3000-meter that helped her secure the High Point Scorer of the Meet award and four First Team All-Conference USA honors. Chepkemei accounted for 40 of the women's 91 points over the two-day weekend.
Esther Isa took first place in the women's triple jump with a personal best length of 13.48 meters, earning Isa First Team All-Conference USA honors. Isa also took second in the women's high jump with a final height of 1.78m, .01 meters from her personal best. Isa accounted for 18 points over the weekend.

Up next for the Blue Raiders is the 2022 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 11-12 in Birmingham, Ala., at the CrossPlex for Alaba Akintola, Eusila Chepkemei, Omamuyovwi Erhire, and Esther Isa.
