Blue Raiders gain two spots on final day of Schenkel Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. – Middle Tennessee moved up from 12th place to 10th Sunday in the third and final round of the Schenkel Invitational. Nick Wolf carded a 68 (-4) Sunday to end in a tie for 12th at 213 (-3).
"We got a great round from Nick today, and he had a great tournament," head coach Mark McEntire said. "We struggled again today and just did not make enough birdies to get into the top five. We still have a very good team and can't wait to get back in action at Vandy."
Wolf recorded six birdies to bring his three-round total to a team-high 12. He equaled the third-lowest individual score of the third round in the 87-player field. It marked his fourth round in the 60s on the season and his 11th score of par or better.
The Murfreesboro native recorded his second-lowest 54-hole score as a Blue Raider. His tie for12thplace represents his second-best individual finish this season.
MT carded a collective 295 (+7) Sunday to finish with a 54-hole score of 876 (+12). The Blue Raiders were one of nine teams to record their highest score of the tournament in the third round.
Owen Stamper tied for 23rd at 217 (+1) after recording a 74 (+2) Sunday. Michael Barnard ended the event in a tie for 49th at 222 (+6) after finishing with a 76 (+4) in the third round.
Kevin Jegers fell to a tie for 67th at 227 (+11) after recording a third-round 80 (+8) Sunday. Connor Daly rounded out the lineup in a tie for 76th at 230 (+14), wrapping up the tournament with a 77 (+5).
The Blue Raiders are back in action April 1-3 at Vanderbilt's Mason Rudolph Championship at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.
