Blue Raiders Take Game Two and the Series at UAB

The Blue Raiders (10-12, 3-2 C-USA) never trailed in the game and jumped on the Blazers (14-7, 2-3 C-USA) early, scoring four runs in the first three innings.
Three straight walks led the way to an RBI fielder's choice hit by Tatsunori Negishi for the game's first run in the first.
Back-to-back singles by JT Mabry and Luke Vinson, who each finished with three hits, started the second inning. The pair went on to score as unearned runs on a UAB error to make it 3-0.
Negishi contributed once again in the third inning with a leadoff double and came home on a Mabry single.
UAB cut the Blue Raider lead to one after scoring two in the third and another in the sixth, but Eriq Swan's solid outing of six innings, three strikeouts and five hits prevented any further damage.
Trent Seibert took over in the seventh and threw two scoreless innings while the Blue Raider offense scored two runs on three extra base hits by Brett Coker, Mabry and Vinson in the eighth to add insurance.
With the score at 6-3 in favor of MT, Jaden Hamm earned his first career save and struck out two batters in the process to secure the win.
Mabry extended his hitting streak to 11 while Swan won his first game of the season.
The Blue Raiders clinched their first conference series win since they won three of four vs. UAB April 23-25, 2021. The two wins this weekend also mark the program's first road conference series win since MT took two of three at UTSA March 15-17, 2019.
