NCAA Norman Regional wraps up first round

NORMAN, Okla. – Michael Barnard finished the first round of the NCAA Norman Regional tied for 30th, and Nick Wolf is tied for 61st Monday. Barnard carded a 73 (+1) and Wolf ended the round at 77 (+5).
"I thought Mike played a solid round of golf today," head coach Mark McEntire said. "It was a nice eagle to finish. Both he and Nick did not drive it well enough to take advantage of these scoring holes. They are both very good players, and I look forward to seeing how they come out tomorrow."
Barnard ended the round strong, wrapping up the round with an eagle on hole 18. In addition to that eagle, the Hendersonville, Tenn., native carded birdies on holes 3 and 13.
Wolf recorded three birdies of his own, including one on the final hole of the round.
The top individual in the field not playing as part of one of the top five teams in the regional will advance to the NCAA Regional. The top five teams through the first round are Oklahoma, South Carolina, Auburn, Utah and Texas. The top player not on those teams is Baylor's Johnny Keefer, who is tied for fifth at 69 (-3).
Wolf is scheduled to tee off on hole 1 at 10:01 a.m. CT Tuesday. Barnard will begin at 10:23 a.m. on hole 1.
