Barnard, Wolf headed to Norman regional

MURFREESBORO – Middle Tennessee's Michael Barnard and Nick Wolf will be participating in the NCAA Norman Regional, scheduled for May 15-18 at Jimmie Austin Golf Club in Norman, Okla., as announced by the NCAA on Wednesday.
Barnard earned his spot in the regional field as an individual by winning the Conference USA Individual Championship with a score of 210 (-6). Wolf garnered his regional berth on the strength of a No. 139 national ranking by Golfstat.
The two Blue Raiders join a group of 10 individuals competing in the Norman regional. The other individual participants include Baylor's Johnny Keefer, North Texas' Vicente Marzilio, Iowa's Mac McClear and Ronan Kleu, Colorado's Justin Biwer, Belmont's Evan Davis, Chattanooga's Paul Conroy, and LA Tech's Sam Murphy.
The lowest-scoring individual not on an advancing team in each regional will advance to the NCAA Championship from May 27-June 1 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. The 13 teams competing at the Norman regional include No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 2 Texas, No. 3 Auburn, No. 4 South Carolina, No. 5 Ole Miss, No. 6 Louisville, No. 7 Missouri, No. 8 San Diego State, No. 9 Utah, No. 10 Kent State, No. 11 Kansas State, No. 12 UT Martin and No. 13 Rider. The top five teams will advance to the finals.
Norman was not one of the six regional sites selected to host the 2022 NCAA Championship. Ol' Colony Golf Complex in Tuscaloosa, Ala., was originally scheduled to host a regional before incelement weather made conditions at the course unsuitable for regional play.
