MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Softball continues to bolster its 2023 roster with veteran experience as head coach Jeff Breeden announces the addition of senior transfer Savannah Behabetz.
"Savannah is coming to us having played three seasons for Incarnate Word. She is a contact hitter. Her last two season she has hit between .340-.350 range with 42 runs scored. She is a great student. Savannah will bring maturity to our outfield. We look for her to contribute immediately upon arrival to MTSU. We look forward to working with this young lady from Texas."
Behabetz joins the Blue Raiders after spending the last three seasons at the University of Incarnate Word.
Over her three-year career as a Cardinal, Behabetz competed in 96 games and received 80 starts. She holds a career .300 batting average and connected on 69 career hits, including six doubles and two triples. Behabetz has scored 37 runs and knocked in 20 RBI.
During 2022, Behabetz, a Southland Conference All-Conference Third Team selection finished the season second on the Cardinals with a .352 batting average. Behabetz connected on a team second-best 38 hits, including a pair of doubles and a triple, as well as tying for third on Incarnate Word with 21 runs scored and knocked in nine RBIs.
Before joining the Cardinals, Behabetz was a four-year letterwinner at Valor Christian High School. She was a four-time all-conference honoree (2016-19) and was twice named all-state during her junior and senior seasons. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and the Valor Cum Laude Society.
Behabetz is the Blue Raiders' sixth signee for the 2022 signing class, joining Ansley Blevins, Kamryn Carcich, Paige Connors, Shelby Echols, Julia Garcia, and Lexi Medlock.
