Blue Raider Soccer Match at Jacksonville Determined A No Contest

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Middle Tennessee State soccer's match at Jacksonville was determined a no contest due to inclement weather Sunday afternoon.
Stats and results from the game will not count toward overall season numbers.
Both teams came to play from the start as Jacksonville's (0-0-1) goal in the fourth minute put the Blue Raiders (0-1-0) in an early deficit.
Ninety seconds later, MTSU responded. After Madison Franz's shot bounced off the Jacksonville keeper's hands, Emma Pettersen came through with a second-chance header to even the score at 1-all.
Another Blue Raider freshman came up big when Manon Lebargy converted a free kick in the 15th minute to give MTSU its first lead of the afternoon at 2-1.
Following Jacksonville's game-tying goal three minutes later, the scoring halted for the remainder of the half.
Lighting was spotted in the area 20 minutes into the second half, forcing play to be paused. The decision to make the game a no contest was made after a 53 minute delay.
The Blue Raiders will next face Ole Miss in their home opener Thursday. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m at Dean A. Hayes Track & Soccer Stadium.
