Insell Named ESPN's Women's Basketball Coach of the Week

18-year head coach recognized after 3-0 week
MURFREESBORO, Tenn.— Middle Tennessee Head Women's Basketball Coach Rick Insell has been named ESPN.com's Coach of the Week in its weekly college women's basketball roundup Monday.
At 16-2 overall and 9-0 in Conference USA, Insell and the Lady Raiders are off to their best start in Insell's 18-year tenure with the program. MTSU most recently swept its three-game week against UAB, Charlotte and Louisiana Tech.
Insell has a 421-148 (.740) record at Middle Tennessee after a 775-148 record at Shelbyville High School from 1977 to 2005.
Insell is third amongst active Division I women's basketball coaches with 20 seasons or fewer and a minimum of 10 seasons coached for winning percentage with a .740 clip. His 421 wins are third for most wins among NCAA Division I active coaches between 18 and 10 years of experience.
