Blue Raiders send four athletes to the UNM Team Open

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee men's and women's track and field teams will send two athletes each to Albuquerque, N.M. to compete at the UNM Team Open hosted from Friday, Jan. 27 to Saturday Jan. 28.
The men's team will send Alaba Akintola to run the 60m race and 200m. Also, Benjamin Onyekwelu will compete in the long jump where he previously jumped 7.70m last weekend at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
The women's team will have Esther Isa and Lyn'Nikka Vance at the UNM Team Open.

The Meet Schedule
The Blue Raiders will start off the UNM Team Open on Friday at 4:00 p.m. CT. Saturday's events kick off at 11 a.m. CT with Alaba Akintola running in the men's 60m.

Event Wins
-Molutsi Mohlouwa won the men's 3000m race with a time of 8:15.60, which is the top overall time in Conference USA.
Men's Top Performances
-Molutsi Mohlouwa finished first in the men's 3000m race with a conference best time of 8:15.60.
-Habtamu Geta finished second in the men's 3000m race with a time of 8:15.61, which is second best in C-USA.
Women's Top Performances
-Lyn'Nikka Vance ran in the women's 60m and placed fifth with a time of 7.61 to qualify for the 60m final where she placed seventh at 7.65.
-Sophomore Pamela Milano placed top-20 in her first 800m race with a time of 2:16.82.
-Esther Isa took third place in the women's triple jump final after a 12.89 jump.
-Lesego Mphse finished sixth in the women's 3000m final where she set a personal best time of 9:44.02.
