Four Blue Raiders Competed in the UNM Team Open

Albuquerque, N.M. – The four selected athletes on Middle Tennessee's track and field teams completed this weekend's competition at the UNM Team Open.
Event Wins
-Esther Isa won the women's high jump final where she cleared 1.84m. That mark is now the top overall jump in C-USA this season and nationally ranked among the Top-10.
-Alaba Akintola won the men's 60m final with a time of 6.61s.
Men's Top Performances
-Alaba Akintola placed second in the men's 200m race where he set a top overall C-USA time and a nationally ranked sixth best time of 20.63s.
-Benjamin Onyekwelu placed third in the men's long final where he jumped 7.50m.
Women's Top Performances
-Lyn'Nikka Vance qualified for the women's long jump final with a mark of 6.08m and later in the evening placed third in the finals
-Esther Isa placed third in the women's triple jump final where she jumped a mark of 12.42m.

Next up
The Blue Raiders full team will be back in action next weekend in Birmingham, Ala. on Feb. 5 at the Jaguar Invitational.
