MURFREESBORO, Tenn.--Middle Tennessee Baseball has finalized its 2022 signing class. Every week, goblueraiders.com will take a closer look at each future Blue Raider. This week's spotlight is on Walker Shaw.
Walker Shaw - LHP
6-6 | 190
Atlanta, Ga.
As the only pitcher to throw a no-hitter in school history back on April 18, 2022, Walker Shaw has made his impact at the high school level in Atlanta, Ga.
With Johns Creek High School, Shaw is 4-3 with a 2.00 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 46 innings pitched. Johns Creek went 3-0 in the Panama City Beach Tournament in 2022, including his no-hitter April 18 vs. Creekview HS.
In the summer with the East Cobb Yankees, Shaw struck out 34 batters in 24 innings pitched as part of a 38-7 team.
"Walker is an outstanding young man that will bolster our need to add left-handed pitching to our roster." Head Coach Jerry Meyers said. "At 6-6, he has a great frame to build on even before he enrolls. He is very athletic which will lend itself to even greater development as he fills out and gains experience.
His delivery and arm action are very solid and he already has a good feel for commanding his pitches. His work ethic and competitiveness stood out as we targeted him in the recruiting process. He will be a great teammate and make Blue Raider Baseball better on and off the field."
The son of Cameron (former Lander University soccer student-athlete) and Laura Shaw (former cheerleader for the Atlanta Falcons), Walker plans to major in music business or speech and audio pathology at MTSU.
