Five Blue Raiders advance to the Round of 16 at Day Two of the ITA Regional Championships

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Middle Tennessee men's tennis team completed play at day two of the ITA Regional Championships in Chattanooga, Tenn. on Friday. Five Blue Raiders move on to the round of 16 of the tournament.
In doubles, Ondrej Horak and Marcel Kamrowski won 8-4 against UTC's Murdre and Valentine. With that win, the duo advanced to the Round of 16.
In the round of 64 singles, the Blue Raiders went seven-for-seven with all seven players moving on to the round of 32. Kamrowski defeats Ball State's Herran 6-2, 6-2. Javier Cueto Ramos picked up a 6-3, 6-1 victory over UTC's Murdre. Horak tallied a 6-4, 6-1 win against Sam Reeve of Memphis. Igor Mandou Berranger earned a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Belmont's Ian Cruz. Leo Raquin won 6-2, 6-1 against Kudematsch of Memphis. Karim Al-Amin took down the No. 3 seed and No. 42 in the nation Natan Rodrigues of Louisville.
In the round of 32 singles, Kamrowski won 6-1, 6-3 against Zabala of Memphis. Horak defeated Belmont's Luis 3-6, 6-1, 6-2. Raquin tallied a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Saraiva of Dayton. Al-Amin picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win against UTC's Castillo-Sanchez. Taramonlis capped off the day with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Louisville's Steinbach.
In singles, Kamrowski, Horak, Raquin, Al-Amin and Taramonlis all move on the round of 16.
In the consolation singles draw, Kristian Thomas defeated Southern Indiana's Gillespie 6-4, 6-3.
